Polar bears will use their noses to politely ask for permission before eating another bear's food.
When sharing a meal with another bear, they will circle the food, then nudge the other's nose with their own. This is their way of asking if they may eat their food too! It is similar to how we may ask someone for permission before sharing a meal.
